Educator

Scott Eckert is an educator and a  leader committed to advancing education. With nearly 35 years of teaching experience under his belt, including two tenures as the math department chair at Cuyamaca College, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to the table. His track record of fostering success and leading initiatives that elevate student achievement sets him apart as a candidate who can bring level-headed decision-making to our school board.

Leader

For Scott, education is more than just a profession; it's a passion deeply ingrained in his upbringing. Scott's commitment to teaching was ignited by many influences like his parents who were both educators, his high school math teachers, and exemplary professors during his academic journey. Armed with a math degree and teaching credentials from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, as well as a Master's in Math Education from Oregon State University, Scott has dedicated his career to empowering students and shaping futures.

Scott's vision for our schools is about majoring in the essentials.  He envisions a learning environment where every student thrives, equipped with the skills and knowledge to pursue their dreams, whether in STEM fields, liberal arts, or vocational/technical careers. Central to his vision is the unwavering support and empowerment of teachers and counselors, ensuring that they have the resources and encouragement to deliver their best. Additionally, Scott is committed to fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and oversight in the district's operations, ensuring that every dollar is spent wisely and every decision made is in the best interest of our students and community.
